Presentation: Touching a Stranger's Child
This is an example of an Application Presentation submitted by a student enrolled in my Social Psychology course. It is posted here (with the student’s permission) to help future students in the class. Students create Application Presentations toward the end of the semester. The presentations are designed to help students apply social psychological solutions to everyday problems. Students define a societal problem, propose a social psychological solution, and share their insights with the class by recording presentation. Solutions should be based a student’s own brilliant social psychological insights, and based on social psychological principles, research, and theories discussed in the t...

PSY 2120: Three Criteria for Establishing Causation
Просмотров 3216 месяцев назад
It's relatively easy to establish an association between two variables, but it's a bit more complicated to establish a causal relationship between two variables. That's true because causal claims require more than just covariation. To support a causal claim, researchers must conduct a well-controlled experiment that meets three criteria: covariation, temporal precedence, and internal validity. ...

Presentation: Social Anxiety and the Holidays
Nice video! One edge case for the second formula that I don’t understand is: if you get 0 of n respondents answering “yes” to a question, the numerator is 0 * 1 = 0, but a zero margin of error doesn’t make sense for any real poll. How to handle this situation? If the ground truth is 0%, then obviously the margin of error is zero. However, if the number of “yes” responses is zero, we can’t be certain the true answer is zero.
Edit an create is not there
Microsoft is constantly changing the interface, but it's still just as easy. Open you .MOV video in Photos. Then select the icon for "trim video" and trim a bit off the beginning or end. The select "save as copy" and you'll see several options including MP4. It's as easy as that!
at times my brain couldn't keep up but then i understood it. thanks for explaining it
You're welcome! You know, at times my brain can't keep up, either. That's okay. We're not machines. Sometimes we need to take a few extra moments to think, and the good news is that most of the time, other people don't make a big deal about it :)
OMG! Thanks. I could tell from first hearing your voice I would learn something.
And I can tell by your comment that you're going to learn a lot in life :)
Thank you .. God bless you ❤
You're welcome :)
This video you made is now 10 years so yay
It has helped a lot of people. It's approaching half a million views :)
This is probably one of the hardest things I have got to do compute is really hard ngl this Is why I need to practice since my parents are always pushing me to count
Practice really is the key. The more you practice, it easier it gets. When I pay cash for things, I always try to compute the change before the cashier gives it back to me. It's great practice :)
Gotta be able to count under pressure with people in your face asking questions. I’ve have never been a multi- tasker
That's true...there's added social pressure when someone is in your face, waiting, and expecting you to work quickly. My best advice is to practice at home so that you're ready at work, and while at work making change, take a deep breath and focus on what you're doing.
Hello, how to check the oil level? Where’s the sight glass
My model has a sight glass on the brake side. Sometimes they're hard to see, either because of dirt or hoses/wires. If there's no sight glass, there will be a dipstick.
yall im here because i have hard time rounding up change when customers ask to roundup for donations 😭😭 DONT COME AT ME IM SLOW 😭🤚🏻
Don't be afraid to use a calculator to check your math.
Same
This video has help me to understand counting money back 😊I am definitely going to be watching more videos on counting money back thank u ❤
That's great! Thx for letting me know :)
I'm learning English and tomorrow I'll work on Macdonald as a cashier so I'm very nervous
I can understand being nervous. That's natural. Give yourself some time. If your coworkers are helpful and supportive, this will probably be a great learning experience for you :)
I'm 13 can't count money 😢 i feel ashamed and embarrassed
There's no need to get down on yourself because you have the power to improve yourself. I think it's important to understand how to count money and how to make change. It sounds like you think it's important, too. There are lots of videos on YT that can help you. Now is the time to put in the hard work. If you watch videos, ask questions, and practice, you'll be able to count money and make change pretty quickly :)
This is still hard and I'm still learning
Yes, it is difficult, but with lots of practice, you'll be able to do it :)
Hi! I have a question about the Total Bill: $1.03 I noticed that the paid was $5.00 and the Bill was $1.03 but then the total is $3.97. How do you do the math?
Hi! The customer paid $5.00, but the bill was just $1.03, so the CHANGE was $3.97. That's just $5.00 minus $1.03. I hope this helps :)
Thank you, your explanations were easy to understand.
You're welcome :)
I just graduated High School in 2022 two years ago and I'm still practicing
I graduated high school in 1987, and I'm still practicing, lol! Practice makes perfect :)
Extremely helpful, thank you!
Glad the video helped! Thx for posting :)
NICE!!
Thx! Glad you found it helpful :)
im going to work soon and still don't know how to count money 💀💀
I hear ya. It's time to start practicing at home. If you've been watching videos about making change, then you're on the right track. It' all about practice. You can do it :)
All examples are for 2colours * How do I get different colours different rows Not only 2colours
Good question! I haven't done that myself, but I'd just slightly modify the formula and use the same basic instructions using different colors on more than two rows.
Thank you so much for the update last night I churt too penny I don't want be churt again
Awesome!! Thanks
Flash fill is wonderful, isn't it? I'm glad the video helped you :)
When you froth your coffee or milk, do t use the glass carafe. You can break it. You should use a metal carafe or ceramic mug. Traditional Cuban coffee also uses brown sugar. Give it a taste and let me know what you think!
I've always worried about breaking my glass carafe, but I've been it for probably 15 years and so far so good. I'll try brown sugar! Sounds delicious!
Tx, but all borders are become invisible, even if you choose neutral filling
If you want specific borders, then you need to click on the border tab and set it how you'd like in addition to clicking on the fill tab, as I describe in the video. I hope this helps :)
This method isn't working with the MOV files I downloaded from iStock. 😥
THANK U
You're welcome :)
I like this!
Thx!
For change, you don't even have to do that much mental math. For example, for the $5 tendered and $1.03 that is owed, just make that #1.03 add up to a dollar. In this way you're adding, not subtracting where there's a higher chance of a mistake occurring. Only subtraction occurs IF that dollar bill is given with cents.
Yes, there are many ways to get to the same answer :)
OHHH I get it
Good😊
Thank you!
Thanks love u sir
You're welcome!

Question:can we vote for two or more?
In most races, you can vote for just one person. For example, for President of the USA, you can vote for just one person. However, in some situations, there might be several vacant seat, such as for county commissioner. In those situations, you might be able to vote for more than one person to full the multiple seats. Some people like the idea of ranked voting (i.e., ranking those running from most preferred to least preferred), but that hasn't gained much steam in the USA.
somhow doesn't work for me it doesn't turn it into an picture
The procedure converts from one video format (MOV) to another video format (MP4). This procedure is not for creating a static picture.
funny you had a video about obedience... looks likely you got vaccinated. if so you failed to put your ideas into practice
I made an informed decision regarding vaccination, which is what adults do. I hope you made an informed decision, as well :)
Thank you. I have been looking for this infor as a first time vote.
You're welcome. Please consider sharing it with others :)
What I never learned is how to quickly in my head figure out how to much extra to pay to get back the fewest coins or bills. That would be a good video.
I have a video like that! It's entitled, "How to Make Change in Your Head." Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/ngHV9dCphJA/видео.html
@@FrankMLoSchiavo That's not what I meant really. In your example: Bill=$1.03. How do you figure out quickly in your head you want to pay with a $5 bill plus 5 cents to get fewer coins back? How do you calculate that 5 cents?
@@divermike8943 In that situation, I'm just looking for the smallest bills/coins to cover the cost. Because a $1 bill won't cover the $1.03 cost, I would chose to pay with a $5 bill. Because I don't want a bunch of change in return, I'd add a nickel (5 cents) to cover the 3 cent cost. That's how I'd decide how to pay.
Still kinda confusing to me 😞
It will probably help to watch the video again. But this time, pause the video and try to figure out the change on your own, as you go. Pay attention to the explanations and try to work those explanations into your understanding of the general concepts. Once you fully understand one example, you'll understand any example :)
I’m 56 and I have dyscalculia, math has been a problem all my life, it’s really frustrating.
I can understand that. I meet lots of students who are frustrated by math. The good news is that many tools exist to make math easier for us. There's really no need to do math in your head. When I get nervous and worry about my math skills, I pull out a calculator (or my phone) and make a little joke about my inability to do simple math. It always works out fine :)
I had given test and university informed that they haven't received footage
That sounds like an issue you'd need to take up with support staff at Proctortrack.
Yea, I think I'll use the calc instead.
That's often the best thing to do.
I've never Done this. Thank you

@@Sviiiiiiii Most cashiers don't do math in their heads, and making change is what they do all day long. They rely on the cash register to tell them the correct amount of change. I'm a college professor who teaches statistics. I use a calculator. Even though I can do math in my head, I don't need to. My guess is that most jobs in the world do NOT require doing math in one's head.
I got it, yay. You are a good teacher. God bless you, 🙏🏼.
I'm glad to help! Thx :)
Also you can just subtract 100 from 38- So your subtracting now, For this example is easy as well by using $1.00 and $ 0.38. By subtracting 38 from 100, you will also get "62", I checked it on my calculator, and I was right!!! my cell calculator does not have all the keys that this one does, mine is much simpler in the sense of negative no for instance.
My iphone has a simple calculator if I hold it vertically, but a much more sophisticated calculator if I hold it horizontally. Give that a try if you'd like another option.
